In all parts of the world and throughout time, the supernatural plays a central role in human life. This course takes a cross-cultural approach to magic, ritual, witchcraft, shamanism and religious movements in developing an anthropological perspective on the diverse ways that our species constructs and makes use of the supernatural.

Class limited to 35 students.

Official UT Course Description: May be repeated for credit when the topics vary.

Prerequisites: Completion at least 24 hours of college coursework, including freshman and sophomore English; or consent of the instructor.
