Principles of Chemistry I covers the fundamental laws and theories necessary for further work in chemistry, the central science. This course stresses building good problem solving techniques and critical thinking skills. Topics for this course will be divided into four units: i) Basics of Chemistry; ii) Fundamentals of Quantum Mechanics; iii) Chemical Bonding and Molecular Geometries; iv) Phases of Matter.
Official UT Course Description: May not be counted toward the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree.
Prerequisites: Credit or registration for one of the following: Mathematics 408C, 408D, 408K, 408L, 408M, or 427L, Statistics and Scientific Computation 302.
